Come and join us at Docklands Yacht Club !

Docklands Yacht Club (DYC) is a community sailing club based in Victoria Harbour, Docklands. 

The club provides access to sailing for our members, but also holds Community Sailing Days when casual non-member visitors who would like to come sailing in our club boats or even learn to sail (if new to sailing) are welcome. We hold these Community Sailing Days usually on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month (check the calendar page for exact dates, closures or special events). 

Club memberships are available for Senior, Youth (13 - 18), Junior (under 13) and Interstate Memberships. 

To become a NEW member, you can either

1. Use this Online Membership Registration Portal  or 
2. Download and fill out our DYC Membership Application Form and either email us (docklandsyachtclub@gmail.com) a PDF scanned copy of your signed form or bring it to DYC when you next visit.  

For EXISTING members, we will automatically email a new invoice when the new season commences.

If you did not receive an invoice, please email us (docklandsyachtclub@gmail.com) to request a membership Invoice for the new sailing season and include the email address you would like the invoice to be sent to (we may have your old email). The invoice can be paid by bank transfer.

Payments:

If using the Online Portal, the membership fee is paid during the Registration process.

If using the Membership Form, or paying an invoice, this can be paid by bank transfer (preferred option, see details below) or by EFT/POS when you are next at DYC.

Note: If paying by bank transfer, ensure your Name is included in the description field (so we can identify your payment in our account) and email us a copy of your receipt and the member(s) name(s) it relates to.   

Our daily boat hire is free for club members (this is included in your annual membership fee). 

As part of becoming a member, you also agree to act as volunteers and participate in Community Sailing Days and Working Bees.

Casual sailors can hire a boat on the day, which also provides them with day membership of the Club, insurance for water-based activities through the Yachting Australia insurance scheme, use of a boat, basic instruction and life jackets. 

The club has an established fleet of Hansa class boats.   

Docklands Yacht Club runs regular 'Come Try Racing' days to encourage our sailors to take the next step into competiton. These are friendly, stress-free days where instruction and practical programs are offered to help sailors take the first steps into racing. DYC members are also active in regattas sailed at other clubs and State and National Championships. We also run a Short Course racing season throughout Summer.

DYC is located in the Community Boating Hub which we share with Dragon Boats Victoria and the Melbourne Outrigger Canoe Club.  This is centrally located centrally within the Victoria Harbour precinct, next to the Docklands Library building and we welcome residents of the Docklands community.
