Come and join us at Docklands Yacht Club!

Docklands Yacht Club is a community sailing club based in Victoria Harbour, Docklands.

The club is normally open for Community sailing on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month when members and casual sailing visitors are able to sail in our club boats. (Check calendar page for exact dates, closures or special events). 

Club memberships are available for Senior, Youth (13 - 18), Junior (under 13) and Interstate Memberships. Costs are:

• Senior - $200
• Youth - $100 (aged 13 to 18)
• Junior - $50 (aged under 13)
• Interstate Membership (non Victorian members) $150

Sailing for members is included in their annual membership fees. The Membership form can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. As part of the annual fees, members agree to act as volunteers and participate in Community Sailing Days and Working Bees.

Casual sailors can register on the day and pay $30 per boat.

This entitles casual sailors to day membership of the Club, insurance for water-based activities through the Yachting Australia insurance scheme, use of a boat, basic instruction and life jackets. Should you chose to become a member of DYC, your day membership cost is deducted from your full membership fee.

The club has an established fleet of Hansa class boats. Boats are free to use for club members.  

Docklands Yacht Club runs regular 'Come Try Racing' days to encourage our sailors to take the next step into competiton. These are friendly, stress-free days where instruction and practical programs are offered to help sailors take the first steps into racing. DYC members are also active in regattas sailed at other clubs and State and National Championships. We also run a Short Course racing season throughout Summer.

In cooperation with Dragon Boats Victoria and the Melbourne Outrigger Canoe Club, DYC has moved into new facilities as part of the Community Boating Hub.  This is centrally located centrally within the Victoria Harbour development and brings the club closer to the Docklands community.

Where possible, the club will look to seek funds for training for members to serve as volunteers - powerboat handling, first aid, coach & instructor training, event organisation, race management and other relevant training. So let us know what interest within the sport and recreation of sailing you would like to develop.
