Docklands Yacht Club overlooks Victoria Harbour with sweeping views of the Melbourne City skyline and the ever changing Docklands precinct. From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
303 and Liberty sailors invted to compete at George Mac regatta
George Mac Regatta
The George Mac Regatta is Royal Brighton Yacht Club’s premier off-the-beach event, and will be held on the weekend of December 3 & 4, 2016.
The regatta will bring together off-the-beach sailors of all ages from around the bay and interstate. Invited classes include all junior and youth classes, along with a variety of open classes including the Hansa 303 and Liberty
The Club boasts first rate facilities, including an extensive and newly-expanded rigging and boat-storage area, a sheltered boat launching area, and ideal sailing conditions for all ages, along with extensive on-shore facilities for competitors and supporters to enjoy. A hoist/ C-crane is available to allow sailors with limited mobility to be safely lifted in and out of their boats. Accessible bathroom facilities are also available in the club and on the hardstand.
Sailors in Hansa 303's participated in the re-launch of the event last year, after RBYC had hosted the successful Victorian Hansa Class Championships in 2015.
