1st Short Course races for 2017 held
The 2016/17 Short Course series has continued at DYC with the first event of 2017 seing 6 races held.
Prior commitments saw the fleet reduced to just 4 boats, with leading Liberty sailor Russell Phillips jumping into a 303 alongside the others.
A tricky day's racing, with winds frequently varying in strength and direction lead to close racing, with some finishes seeing the sailors separated by less than a metre.
Following some recent practice, Club Secretary David Hales showed marked improvement with his racing tactics and currently sits 2nd overall for the 303 division.
Christine Elliott maintains her overall lead, winning one race today, however Russell took out the remaining 5 races in his first outing in the 303 for the series.
The next round of Short Course racing is on February 19th.
