From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
Sail Country welcomes 303 sailors
Hansa 303 sailors are invited to take part in the 2016 Sail Country regatta. *amended Originally we were avised that 2.3's would also be invited, however the organisers have changed their minds *
The regatta takes place at the Albury Wodonga Yacht Club on the 29th & 30th October on the unofficial Melbourne Cup 'long weekend'.
Last year, the 303's were invited for the first time, however launching boats proved an issue due to a lack of water, however competitors still enjoyed the hospitality and a relaxing weekend in the country. As you can see from the photo, this year, Lake Hume is almost full, as it was when the Club hosted the 2011 Victorian Hansa Class Championships.
Online entry is now open and Notice of Race is available on the event website - www.sailcountry.com
Competitors can order wood-fired pizzas and BBQ packs as part of the online entry process. On Saturday night, there will be music, a roast and samples from local Rutherglen winery Pfeiffer Wines. A winery bus tour is also available to be booked on the Monday 31st. Unpowered camping sites are available at the Yacht Club from $10 per adult per night. A link to local camper/trailer hire companies is available on the website and nearby Albury has plentiful and varied accomodation. (An accomodation guide will be available on the website for download shortly).
Entries close October 11th.
